Marla Family

Our security alarm went off in the middle of the night the other night.  It was a loud blare and you couldn’t help but be startled and alarmed. Immediately my 10 year old son wandered into our room. And then our 13 year old daughter. They were scared and all they wanted was to crawl into our bed and be safe.

Sheryl Sandberg, in her new book, Option B: Facing Adversity, Building Resilience and Finding Joy, talks about how her mom crawled into bed with her as she cried herself to sleep every night after the sudden death of her 47-year-old husband, David Goldberg. With the pace of life as it is, sometimes we just need a warm hug.

Option B

So please, if your mom is around or if you are a mom, take some time to give some hugs this Mother’s Day. Hug your friends. Hug your significant others. My mom passed in 2012, so I will be focused on hugging my children.

Happy Mother’s Day
